Select The Year Of Your Vehicle Below

The Scion xB debuted with the 2004 model year as the first car sold under Toyota’s Scion brand. It was introduced alongside the Scion tC during the 2002 New York Auto Show. Showing the xB and the tC was a great way for Toyota to start a new brand targeted for younger car owners. Both models provided great performance and peculiar looks while being affordable. The Scion xB became Scion’s best-selling model until 2011, when it was overtaken by the Scion tC.

Production of the Scion xB ended with the 2015 model year. As with other Scion models, it is offered under a single trim, with choices of either a manual or automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard for the Scion xB, as well as a 2.5-liter, 158-hp inline-four engine. While not being the most fuel-efficient hatchback, the Scion xB differentiated itself by bringing great on-road performance plus a roomy cabin.

What Engine Is in a Scion xB?

The 2015 Scion xB is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-four engine that produces 158 hp and 162 pound-feet of torque. First-generation models were heavily based on the Toyota bB, powered by a 1.3-liter, 108-hp inline-four engine. Meanwhile, early second-generation models came with 1.5-liter and 1.8-liter Toyota Corolla Rumion engines or a 2.4-liter Toyota AZ inline-four engine.
